As a Washington State Approved Supervisor
It is my commitment to serve as clinical supervisor to those committed to the field of counseling, social work, and marriage and family therapy.
Providing continuity from university course work to front line experiences and fortifying the foundational skills needed for sound professional growth.
Let me help you navigate the process and steps it takes to become a fully licensed clinician in the State of Washington.
I utilize an Integrative Developmental Model of Supervision (IDM). IDM views the growth of therapists “as progressing through three developmental stages or levels: Level 1, beginning; Level 2, intermediate; and Level 3, advanced…” (McNeill & Stoltenberg, 2016, 6 - 7)
My role as your supervisor is to focus on your development at each level through the lens of three supervisory structures:
Supervision requires feedback and evaluation. My expectation is to provide timely and useful feedback at the moment. Ongoing broad evaluation will be categorized in eight different domaines:
Over the years, I have developed areas of expertise that can assist new clinicians in their work. Below you can read more about my specialties in documentation, diagnosing and clinical work flow.
Partnering with you to systematically deconstruct your clinical documentation to help you complete your notes on time and reflecting the appropriate items for billing and coding.
Utilizing the DSM 5 and real life experiences, I can assist in your growth in providing the most appropriate diagnosis for those you serve.
Examining your daily work flow to ensure you are incorporating quality and safety measures in your work. Adjusting your work flow as you and your work grow.
"I appreciate the help and support. This was my second attempt at the test so I was very anxious and worried, but I worked through a lot of self-limiting thoughts and studied my butt off! I am so glad it is over, and that I passed!"
"I passed! For so long this felt like such an unattainable goal, and I continued to come up with excuses of why I couldn’t take my test. I appreciate the extra help you had offered along the way."
